Let’s start our beach exploring at my neighborhood of Vancouver.
Vancouver’s offers some of the most diverse beaches in the world; beautiful golden sand, incredible mountain and city backdrop. A perfect place to enjoy the outdoors with kayaking, soaking up the sun, volleyball or just people watching. All these beaches are wonderful and are not in any order. These beaches are my recommendations for you to check out if you’re in Vancouver.
Kitsilano Beach – or Kits Beach if you’re local. This is our Venice Beach — it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the city. The sand is beautiful at this beach – a must see. This beach has a lot of young, trendy people, but that doesn’t mean it’s not family friendly. Waves are calm and gentle but if you’re not an ocean person. This beach can offer you something else! It has the longest outdoor pool in Canada.
English Bay Beach
Do you love swimming- this is one of the best beaches for swimmers. Located in the West End on the edge of Stanley Park (and along the Seawall), English Bay Beach is a perfect urban beach. It offers a diverse environment by offering luscious sand and sunbathers on one side of the street. While offering restaurants, and shops across the street.
This a wonderful beach is perfect for the person who enjoys a quieter beach. The Spanish Banks stretch along the west coast of Vancouver. The Banks offers wonderful picnicking opportunities, swimming, beach volleyball, or a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains. First thing in the morning and early after when the tide is still low you can walk as far out in the sea as possible. Creating an unreal experience for you to enjoy.
These are my personal favorites beaches and I highly recommend checking them out next time you are in Vancouver.
